Ukrainian World Congress President meets President of Ukraine during dinner hosted by the Atlantic Council in New York
On 27 September 2015, the preeminent think tank in the sphere of international affairs, the Atlantic Council, hosted a dinner in New York in honour of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
During that event, Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) President Eugene Czolij assured the President of Ukraine that the UWC, its constituents and partners, will work with the international community to ensure that Ukraine becomes a fully independent, sovereign, territorially integral, democratic and European country.
UWC Vice Presidents Tamara Gallo Olexy (Ukrainian Congress Committee of America President), Lenna Koszarny and Paul Grod (Ukrainian Canadian Congress President) also attended this event.
The UWC partners with the Atlantic Council on its Ukraine in Europe Initiative.
The UWC is the international coordinating body for Ukrainian communities in the diaspora representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians. The UWC has member organizations in 34 countries and ties with Ukrainians in 14 additional countries. Founded in 1967, the UWC was recognized in 2003 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status.
